a time such as this.

sometimes our stories are weaved together in a way we could never imagine.
they take twists and turns that are unexpected and hard.  there are times we just
can't see the full picture....and we might not ever be able to.

6 months ago, i wrote this post.
i was reflecting on how awesome God is to have brought clayton home to
our family from the orphanage
he was living in with over 50 other children:

----
...and this is where the reality sets in.
there is a child in clayton's orphanage that i hugged almost 2 years ago.
as the days continued, i heard bits & pieces of many children's stories.
'she is not adoptable.'  yet, i learned later that she is adoptable now.

there is a young girl that happens to have a special love for that sweet little girl that i
mentioned.  you know, the one that has been waiting & waiting & waiting for
it to be her turn.  esther needs a family.  and she needs one pretty quickly
before she is transferred to the 'big kid' orphanage where she will no longer
be adoptable.  she has some special needs, but as a wise friend one said,
the only real special need that she has is a family.
when i wrote that 6 months ago, a family was found.  but, remember those twists
and turns?  for whatever reason, that was not this little girl's family.  when my family
traveled to uganda last month?  that precious, little girl sits in that same orphanage
losing hope that it is ever going to be her turn.
the orphanage director has graciously allowed her to stay and not yet go to the big
orphanage where she will never be adoptable again.  when i spoke with her last month, she
agreed that we could search for esther's family again.
friends, esther needs a family.
now.

are you or maybe someone you know ready to scoop up this precious child
and tell her that it is her turn?  that she is loved and wanted and has a family?
we're searching for a homestudy ready family for a little girl with special needs.
[i believe she's listed as 4 on paper, but maybe approved up to age 5.]
and if your heart is really led, but you're not homestudy ready, please contact me anyway!
esther's eyes are full of love and light.
as soon as i arrived at the orphanage, she walked over and plopped on my lap.
she saw a volunteer she liked & she got up, walked to her, clapped and laid on her
lap before coming back to mine.  she has a favorite song that she sings, she is doing
great at feeding herself and holding a cup.  there is SO MUCH life in esther
and i truly believe she would flourish in the love of a family.

excited to share more with that special family when they contact me.
i will share more when i hear from you & give you the director's contact information.
she is praying and ready to hear from esther's family!
please contact me here: momentswithlove@gmail.com

if you are not esther's family, you can still be such a blessing to her.
feel free to blog, tweet, facebook, shout from the rooftops about her.
i just know her family is out there.
finally, the last thing that i want to stop a family from adoption is money.
Project Hopeful is a non-profit that i love and they have agreed to set an account
up that will be for when esther's family is found & they get her.
would you consider taking the burden of her ransom totally away?
could you donate your $5 coffee money, $10 lunch money or maybe even more?
bless you.  i will keep you updated.
donate to esther's adoption fund via Project Hopeful's FIG fund:

i don't pretend to know God's plan in all this.  all i know is that He sets the lonely in
families & He can do this.  i don't know why esther has waited for so long, but
i can't help but be hopeful....
"Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for a time such as this."

  4. In January when we were in Uganda sweet Esther plopped herself on my knee also. She is delightful and I will be praying for that special family to adopt her. I will certainly share about her on my blog and because I have met her, it makes it so much more real.

  5. esther's story is very intriguing. lexie said that she would be unadoptable after dec. 2011 because she would be moved out of the baby home into a regular orphanage. which is the case?

  6. This is so strange...My husband is in Uganda with the 60 feet team right now and just met Esther. He is in love to say the least. Then my friend Laura pointed me to your blog. We have been talking and praying about adopting a child. We have a special needs child that is 15 years old. God is defintely stirring something up. We have not done a home study yet, but God is in control of it all. Thanks so much.
